global exchange1The Texas Global Exchange Program, focused on the economic ties between Texas and Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is hosting a week-long workshop. This was hosted at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) in Azerbaijan in summer 2013. This exchange was coordinated through the Assembly of the Friends of Azerbaijan / AFAZ, the Turquoise Council of Americans and Eurasians and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic.

The program provided eligible graduate students and faculty members from UT-Austin, TAMU, University of Houston, Texas State University and Texas A&M International University with the opportunity to travel abroad; attended lectures on business, energy, geopolitical issues, and public and international affairs; interacted with local students; and met with local companies and non-profit organizations. Students made contacts in the area, gained cultural experience, and learned about business and international affairs in Eurasia.

This exchange, coordinated through the Kazakh American Friendship Council and the Turquoise Council of Americans and Eurasians, is hosting a week-long forum focusing on the economic ties between Texas and Kazakhstan, the VII Astana Economic Forum in Astana, Kazakhstan, between May 16th and 25th 2014.
